We are starting an autonomous racing series. In the early days of racing, competitors first had to build their vehicles before they could race them. It was thus as much an engineering competition as it was a racing competition.

We want to rekindle that spirit of engineering and creativity.

To begin, the first event will be widely open to teams with any relevant mobility technologies. Sensor technology companies will record the data and post it publicly so that others can start to understand the data.

Later, we will add competition starting with time trials and narrow the focus. We can create several classes of competition to make some of the engineering challenges less difficult and less costly to implement, such as kart-like vehicles with only optical systems at the low end.
